Out now on download and 12" vinyl. Taken from the forthcoming album 'Spirit In The System' (16 August Europe/ 21 Sept N.America).
Regular collaborator and tour-mate Jenna G returns to the Qemists fold for 'Hurt Less', the second single to be taken from their sophomore full-length Spirit In The System, and one of the album’s emotional peaks. "People can be really emotionally affected by Dance music," says Liam Black, one third of The Qemists. "They can have their best, deepest experiences on a dance-floor. We wanted to capture that range of emotions."
"We just said to the vocalists on the record, ‘think about the emotion, sing about what matters to you’,” adds Dan fellow Qemist Dan Arnold. "We wanted feelings on this record. We got one of the most emotional tracks from Jenna G on 'Hurt Less'. She knew us so well from touring with us that she was totally unafraid to give it everything, and sing what she really felt." Jenna’s powerful, vulnerable vocal makes a perfect fit for The Qemists’ original track, high on dynamics and drama, and with a nagging melancholic melody.
The single also comes with three new remixes: 2-Step/Garage producers Hot City (recently signed to Moshi Moshi) deliver an elegantly itchy mix, legendary Tech-House duo My Digital Enemy transform the track into a shuddering Dance-Floor epic, while Brighton-based Dubstep producer Riskotheque slows the tempo and increases the tempo, with a recut that’ll shake the picture-frames from your walls and wake the dead.

NINJA TUNE XX - WEEK X - XXEN011 - DAEDELUS
This week's Ninja Tune XX giveaway is generous in the extreme. It consists of preview edits of two tracks by LA's electronic master, Daedelus, both of which are exclusive to the Ninja Tune XX releases. Daedelus is truly one of the most original and brilliant voices working in contemporary music; defiantly weaving a psychedelic, pop-aesthetic into uncompromising, sonically inventive songs. There's no one that sounds quite like him, and no one that quite could.
'Trouble With A Capital D' is a brand new song written for the Ninja Tune XX compilation releases coming this September. Deadelus also remixed label-mate Emika's 'Drop The Other' for the same purpose. Both tracks show a constantly restless, consistently satisfying producer at the top of his game.
Ninja Tune will be releasing a new studio album by Daedelus, 'Bespoke,' in 2011, and he'll be appearing live at the Ninja Tune XX events this Autumn.
Emika's album, 'The Pink Button,' will also be released by Ninja Tune next year.

Who knows, if you log in to the chat room we may even be able to relay your rewind requests to the DJ!
Welcome, Ninja Tune’s latest signing, the one and only Eskmo. Brendan Angelides, a native of Connecticut now based in San Francisco, has been causing a considerable stir for the last few years, releasing music on labels including but not limited to Warp, Planet Mu and his own Ancestor imprint. Already tipped by many in the electronic music community to be a major presence for years to come, Eskmo shows exactly what the fuss is all about on his debut for his new home-label.
'Cloudlight' somehow manages to rope together the aesthetics of glitch, dubstep and r&b into the kind of song Marvin The Paranoid Android might have recorded if he were put on a course of anti-depressants, got laid by a washing machine and munched enough ecstasy tablets to explode a cat. Troubling, beautiful and strangely uplifting all at once, it states, simply and without the need for any of these words, that Angelides is a unique presence in electronic music. 'Come Back' develops the sound perhaps even further, a narcotisized Timberlake number or a disembodied ghost voice? It’s a question only the listener can answer, though Angelides injects real longing into his deadpan vocals. Remix duties are dealt with by Brainfeeder’s Lorn, who turns in a brutally pummeling remix.
'Cloudlight' download single is out now, with a self-titled album coming 4th October.
